Agaredech Jemaneh

Agaredech Jemaneh (PhD) currently works as an Assistant Professor at Addis Ababa University, School of Journalism and Communications. She holds her BA and MA (Ethiopian Langauges and Literature and English Literautre respectivley) from AAU, PhD in Sociology from Tromso University, Norway. Before she joined AAU in 2001, she she worked as a Journalist with Addis Zemen daily national newspaper and she taugut at senior assistant instractor level in the former Ethiopian Mass Media Traiing Institute. Media management, Practices and Principles of Public Relations, Introduction to Gender Studies and Research writing courses are some of the courses she teaches in the university. She is also PI of a Thematic Research on «Portrayla of women in Television: Prime time news, programs, entertainment and advertisments». Her engagement with the World Press Freedom Day events of 2019 in Addis Ababa is as an academic mentor and support for the Youth Newsroom.
